Active Life, as I see it, is dedicated to providing the most comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation services to patients including a continuum of care that includes inpatient, outpatient and day rehabilitation services. On a daily basis we unite excellent patient care, research and education to promote lifelong health and independence for people with disabilities.
My philosophy is simple - pursue excellence throughout our continuum of care. At Active Life we must be committed to: providing an atmosphere that encourages inquiring minds, stresses compassion and recognizes the uniqueness of each individual; bonding individual accomplishments with consensus and teamwork; maintaining a family-like environment; and assuring safe and pleasant facilities. Comprehensive patient care to address the medical, physical, psychological, social, spiritual, vocational and economic aspects of patients and their families be provided, a continuum of accessible services be provided at reasonable rates, patients and families be involved in their care and be provided with hope, acceptance and mastery of their lives.
We believe in excellence in research and education and that:
Research can facilitate improved quality of life, greater achievement by people with disabilities and improve effectiveness and efficiency in the care, cure and prevention of disability, education programs can improve life for people with disabilities by increasing the quality, quantity and effectiveness of academic and clinical rehabilitation professionals, public education, aimed at the prevention of disabling injuries and greater understanding of the needs, capabilities and legal rights of people with disabilities, should be conducted.
